Facts

Takeoff at 22:59 hrs for participation in the second 1000 bomber raid; this time the target being Essen, Germany.
The aircraft was caught in the cross-fire of heavy (schwere) and light (leichte) Flak and impacted in the northern harbour area of Antwerpen, where buildings of the Wijngaardnatie are located.
The entire crew was killed and is buried at Schoonselhof: the pilot Sgt Kenneth Edmonds (20 y.), his observer F/Sgt Keith Utman (RCAF, 20 y.), the air gunner Sgt Bruce Edye (RAAF, 23 y.), and the wireless operators/gunners F/Sgt Richard Derry (RCAF), and Sgt Geoffrey Horner, a 20-year-old carpenter from Yorkshire.
