Facts

Halifax took off at 11:41 p.m. East Moor. After dropping bombs, he was attacked by a German fighter and the order to evacuate is given by the driver P / Off Harold Harvey Whaley, RCAF.
The aircraft was shot down by night fighter pilot Oberleutnant Johannes Hager, Staffelkapitän of the 6./NJG 1 based at Saint-Dizier airfield in France.
Four of the crew managed to evade capture, one was taken prisoner of war.
