On that night, NP 975 took off from RAF Driffield at 15.15, bombed Bingen at 18.40, and was shot down by a Ju 88 at 1910.
It crashed near Winterspelt, Germany, approximately four minutes later. The pilot, Ronald Feilberg, was KIA, the remainder of the crew became POWs.
