The aircraft took off at 9:39 p.m. Leconfield. After dropping bombs, it is hit, either by firing Flak or by a German fighter and crashed near Ciney. The pilot, Fl / Sgt Dennis Barr, 21, and the rear gunner Sgt Basil Orrick, 19, were killed. They are both based in Hotton War Cemetery Hotton, south of Liège.
