Facts

On the night of 30/07/1943 at 22:30, EE905-QS-S took off from Chedburgh Airfield, 28 miles east of Cambridge UK. The flight was heading for Remscheid Germany, in order to undertake a bombing raid, as part of the Battle of the Ruhr. The plane was carrying a bomb load of incendiaries only.
Before getting to Remscheid, and at an altitude of 3,900m, the plane was shot down by a German night-fighter (Lt. Wilhelm Schneidewind of 2./NJG4), crashing somewhere about 16 km south of the Willerzie / Gedinne area, Namur, Belgium
