Facts

Lancaster X KB835 WL-J 434 sqn. Operation: Hagen. Take off 16.31 Croft.
Shot down by a Ju 88 and crashed just to the South of Landen (Vlaams Brabant) a large village some 12km SE of Tienen. Five of those who died were taken for burial at Hasselt (Kruisveld) Communal Cemetery (Limburg, Belgium).
WO2 Whitehead RCAF is commerated on Panel 281 of the Runnymede Memorial. F/O Ayotte RCAF is reported to have parachuted near Liege ( belgium), som distance from the crashsite. Source BCL Crewmembers
