Facts

On August 28, 1942 departed from Middleton St.George airbase, the Halifax W7809 with the mission, a raid over the city of Düsseldorf in Germany. The aircraft was shot down over Belgium by the German night-fighter Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer and crashed down near Tombeek.
All crew members died in the crash, they are all buried in the OVERIJSE (TOMBEEK) CHURCHYARD.
