LL882 took off for a mission of bombing of railways and SNCF installation of Lille. Many aircraft were engaged in this operation.
9 Aircraft were shot down by German fighters or Flak. 83 airmen were killed.
Civilians suffered very much by this attack: 184 people died by bombing, many houses and factories were completely destroyed.
