The pilot Flt Lt Noel Patrick Whaley (DFC, RNZAF) was first buried at Bleialf and later exhumed for a place in the American military cemetery of Foy near Bastogne. He was then transferred to the British cemetery at Bure, 15 km northwest of St Hubert. Eventually he would find a final resting place in Hotton. Luc Wittemans and Errol Martin from New Zealand found a stained glass window in honor of Whaley in the chapel Notre Dame d'Haurt in Bure (the name of the chapel is d'HAURT and not d'Huart as indicated in some sources).
The chapel is divided into two parts and the part where the stained glass window can be seen is closed with a gate secured with a padlock. With its back to the entrance, the stained glass window is on the left, behind the gate. The stained glass window can only be seen properly when that part of the chapel is open.
