Facts

Takeoff at 20:48 hrs for an operation to Aachen in Germany.
The aircraft was shot down by the night fighter crew of Fw. Rauer & Fw. Weber, who had taken off from Venlo airfield in the Netherlands at 22:13 hrs, in He 219 A-0 G9+LL.
Six members of this crew were buried at Deurne: F/O Eric Williams DFC (pilot), F/S Douglas Beesley (navigator), Sgt John Parker (wireless operator/air gunner), Sgt Arthur Woodvine (flight engineer), F/S Edward Parry (mid-upper gunner) and Sgt Spencer Gardner (tail gunner).
They rest at the Schoonselhof today. The bomb aimer, F/S A.D. Anderson was captured as the only survivor.
