Facts

Mitchell and Thornton were killed on a night Op to Düsseldorf on 2 November 1944, in Halifax III MZ401 Z5-D.
The other 5 in the crew were taken as Prisoners of War, however Scott escaped half an hour after capture and successfully evaded until 26 November when he met with American troops.
Smith was the substitute Bomb Aimer for that Op, replacing Latimer.
