Wellington Mildenhall takes off around 23:30. On the way to the goal in Germany, he was spotted northwest of Gilly and is attacked by the Me110 of Bietmann, which took off from the base of Sint-Truiden / Sint Truiden. A wing and an engine ignited, the electrical system is destroyed and the apparatus descends uncontrollable spin. William Orndorff draws some bursts towards the German fighter but does not reach it.
