Facts

Collision between Lancaster X (KB787 VR-M) Sqn.419 and Lancaster I (PA219 BM-M) Sqn.433. Lancaster I, KB787 VR-M, Sqn.419 Op Bonn. Take off 17.23 Midddleton St.George. Outbound, and while flying in cloud, collided with a Lancaster from 433 Squadron. Both machines crashed S. of Vielsalm (Luxembourg) in the Belgian Ardennes. Airmen from the RAF Regiment assisted in the recovery of the fourteen who died and later marked their temporary graves with crosses. Since then, their remainshave been taken to Hotton War Cemetery.
