Facts

The Canadians of 412 Squadron lost two Spitfire IXs. We do not know where Flight Lieutenant AC Coles (Spitfire MJ169) fell - he was taken prisoner of war. His squadron mate, Flying Officer James A. Robertson (Spitfire MJ331), crashed at Pervijze - the pilot is still resting in the cemetery. This Canadian was the last Commonwealth aviator to die in Belgium in 1943.
