As soon as the Germans invaded Belgium, many Belgians tried to join England in order to continue the fight while the Belgian army had surrendered, and the soldiers had been taken prisoner and deported to Germany.
It was therefore soldiers and civilians who arrived in Britain in the first months of the war. Among these young volunteers, many enlisted in the Royal Air Force. Most were integrated into the 350 Squadron, while others were integrated into other RAF units.
