Halifax takes off at 22h07 Linton-On-House and about 10 minutes before reaching the goal, it is attacked by Oblt Schnauffer. Four men perish in the crash of the device: the radio / gunner W / OFF1 Robert Joseph Fitzpatrick, RCAF, the ventral gunner Sgt James Howard Jones, RCAF, the upper gunner Sgt Kenneth Wesley Drumm, RCAF and the rear gunner Sgt Christopher Albert Jones. All four are based in the cemetery of Brussels in Evere.
The pilot, Fl / Off J. Howard Black will be captured and Ross Doubt addition, two other men also manage to escape: the browser Ross Doubt and the bomber Fl / Off John "Bill" Van Maarion, RCAF (which remain hidden Belgium until the liberation - GSP 3322/2304). A plate to the crew memory was placed in Londerzeel
