Facts

Neuss- to attack railway targets. 147 Lancasters from 1 and 3 Groups. 1 aircraft lost.
Some of the bombing was in the intended area but many bombs also fell throughout the town. 1749 houses were destroyed along with 19 industrial buildings
Bombs jettisoned over the target area due to a racing engine. Lost height and soon became impossible to control. Abandoned and crashed at Nethen, near Leuven, Belgium.
