Facts

Lancaster III ND705 AS-F departed Kirmington 19.10 on an op to Frankfurt. Presumed crashed in the North Sea off the Belgian coast.
Of this 8-man crew, five are buried in Coxyde while P/O DWC Hawken rests just across the border in Dunkirk Town Cemetery.
Posted missing: S/L DA Sewell and Sgt LS Preator. It was only in October 1946 that Rex Glasson's widown, Yvonne, was officially notified that her husband was buried in Coxyde.
Shortly before his last flight, P/O Glasson had received a letter containing a picture of his new-born son.
